Administrative Staff

It is the City of Dublin ETB's practice to encourage and assist staff to obtain suitable qualifications which will increase their contribution to the City of Dublin ETB and assist in their personal development.  Assistance may include:

Help towards the cost of course fees
Study and examination leave

Administrative staff members wishing to undertake courses of relevant study in the following academic year should complete an application form, duly signed by his/her Head of Section, and submit it to the HR Section in Head Office for approval by the appropriate authority by 31st July.  Course details – including cost – should be included with the application.

Please note:

(a) approval of support does not guarantee entry to a course
(b) approval is made on a year to year basis – not for the full duration of the course
(c) approval in any year does not constitute a commitment by City of Dublin ETB to subsequent years
(d) allocation of support will be dependent on level of demand and availability of funding and will be subject to the needs of the scheme being met.
(e) courses must be relevant to the staff member’s work – partial support may be provided for courses which are partially relevant
(f) in the event that a staff member does not complete the course, reimbursement must be made to City of Dublin ETB– up to the full amount provided.

There are also resources available for some QQI modules. This resource is available for all staff, academic and non-academic. It is a work in progress and will be continuously updated and added to. Many of the resources have been developed by City of Dublin ETB staff, for City of Dublin ETB staff.

The Department of Education and Skills will not sanction the payment of fees by City of Dublin ETB for courses which lead to a qualification that attracts an allowance within the incremental pay scale.
